How FutureRoute Finds Jobs That Can Sponsor You
Tell FutureRoute you need visa sponsorship once, and every search after that does the checking for you.
- Searches the job boards FutureRoute connects with, all at once.
- Checks every employer against GOV.UK’s register of licensed sponsors, which FutureRoute loads every day.
- Reads each advert for words that offer sponsorship, or refuse it.
- Shows employers that can sponsor first, or only those if you ask for sponsors only.
- Tells you how long an employer has held its licence, from archived copies of the register back to October 2021.
- Scores every job against your CV and checks it for scams, like any FutureRoute search.
Check Any Employer’s Sponsor Licence
Ask “Is this employer a licensed sponsor?” and FutureRoute looks it up on the register, with its town, its visa routes and how long it has been listed. No searching through a spreadsheet of over a hundred thousand names.
A licence means an employer can sponsor, not that every job it advertises does. Check the advert says so, or ask the employer before you apply.
Which Jobs Are Most Likely To Be Sponsored?
Most new Skilled Worker visas need a job at degree level that meets the salary threshold for that role. That is why sponsored jobs are mostly in areas the UK is short of people for, such as software and data, nursing and other health roles, engineering, teaching in shortage subjects, and finance.
The rules change during the year. Ask FutureRoute’s career adviser and it checks the latest rules before it answers, with what they mean for you from your CV. For your own case, check GOV.UK.

Spot Fake Sponsorship Offers
Scammers target people who need a visa. Being asked to pay for your Certificate of Sponsorship, a “visa processing” fee, or a job offered only over WhatsApp are warning signs. Licensed sponsors must not pass the cost of sponsoring you on to you.
FutureRoute checks search results for signs like these, and you can paste any advert or company name to check it yourself.
